For Mentors

Resources & References

Overview

One of the objectives of the Preceptor & Mentor Initiative for Health Sciences in BC was to "facilitate development of a health sciences preceptor and mentor system in BC based on best practice guidelines by compiling and disseminating guidelines and resources." The purpose of the Resources & References section is to provide a "clearinghouse" of preceptor and mentor resources, program materials and relevant literature. This section is divided into Collection of Materials, Books, On-line/Video/CDRom and Journal/Other. These headings can be located on the website navigation bar.

Resources and references referring to preceptoring are included in this section because (1) often there is overlap in useful information (for example, how to give and receive feedback is useful to both mentors and preceptors) and (2) differences in how the roles of preceptor and mentor are defined mean that different terms may refer to the same activities.
